What is Another Bandage?

If we are able to truly understand grief and how it affects each of us, we must first understand how grief FEELS. Grief is very isolating and we often believe no one understands how we feel or the struggles we face. I am here to say that is not true! No ones journey with grief is the same as another but we share a lot of the same struggles. The problem is, no one wants to talk about grief! When I found others dealing with grief who expressed having the same frustrations, doubts and insecurities as me, I felt like I actually had a chance to make it out of this relatively intact. I realized I wasn't doing it all wrong or at the wrong pace and that one day I would be able to move forward. 

I will share with you the good, the bad, the ugly and the really ugly sides of grief to show you that you are not alone. I will help your "support staff" understand how you might feel and what they should, or shouldn't, do to assist you on your journey. This blog is designed to make you think, encourage conversation and help you heal it whatever way I can. 

I also offer group sessions where you will have the opportunity to share your experiences with others who are on the same path. Being able to speak with others who truly understand your situation is a vital part of our healing process. 

These in person sessions are currently being offered in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area but I am looking to expand to other areas and on-line groups in the near future.

Pick What’s Right for You

If you’re not sure a group session is a good fit for you, I can be available for one on one sessions. I would encourage you to try the group session if at all possible. These sessions have a huge impact on our emotional well being. Whatever you decide, keep in mind that you can always try both options until you find the right fit for you.
